“Your membership dues help us to continue to support our local tennis in many ways; helping our junior players join leagues & lessons; to purchase equipment, (nets, net straps, sponge rollers, score cards, wind screens) and anything else that is needed to keep CMU & Lincoln Park & Canyon View Park courts in great shape… as our university and the city are good to us, so we partner with them to keep our courts in great condition. Our club donates scholarship dollars to help our CMU players. We put your dollars to good use—to keep tennis alive and growing in our community. We value your support!” —Lena Elliott, Dick Watson, Kathy Elliott

Last October 2016 I received an email from Tiziana Ermini. Tiziana and her partner, Michel Mosseau, who are from Montreal, would be housesitting and cat sitting in Grand Junction for three weeks and wanted to play tennis. My husband Wayne and I played with them and I arranged more tennis with other GJ players. They also played in the Community Tennis Day at CMU, they did drills with Kathy and Sandra Elliott, and they played in the Halloween Social at the Junction Indoor Tennis Center—in costume!
I think they were thrilled with all our great tennis facilities and especially the hospitality shown by all the tennis players of Grand Junction. The couple are currently in Thailand, one stop of many during their year of travel. Follow their travels at https://www.facebook.com/travelingourway/?pnref=story. Hopefully they visit us in Grand Junction again, but if not, contact them if you’re ever in Montreal. And don’t forget your racquets!
Saturday, October 29 was a warm and sunny day for the Colorado Mesa University Community Tennis Day. Kids and adults teamed up with CMU tennis players to play multiple rounds of tennis at the Elliott Tennis Center at Colorado Mesa University. All proceeds will benefit the CMU tennis teams.
