Attend the CMU Community Tennis Day at Colorado Mesa University on Saturday, October 21 and enjoy drills, games, food and drinks with CMU tennis players. Kids are $10, adults are $20 and all proceeds benefit the CMU tennis team.

The opening day of the Western Slope Open was dedicated to singles players of all ages. As John McEnroe said, “singles tennis is the loneliest of all sports,” but thankfully friends and families were at the courts supporting all the players.
A great article by Matt Meyer is in today’s Daily Sentinel featuring Laurni Blanchard and Kathy Bachlet — sweating it out on the courts yesterday. There is still time to sign up for the Western Slope Open tennis tournament (formerly the Taco Bell Western Slope Open tennis tourney). The deadline has been extended to Tuesday, July 11 so get your entry form in soon. The tournament is held July 21-28, 2017. Singles play July 21-23, doubles play July 24-26, families play July 26-28, wheelchair events are July 21-23, and pickleball plays July 22-23. The WTF (Wendt Tennis Festival) is this weekend, May 12-13 at the Junction Indoor Tennis Center. John Wendt sponsors this tournament every year–thanks, John! It’s a USTA sanctioned tournament, tournament ID 250033417. Brackets have been posted.
Courts are reserved at Canyon View this weekend for women’s 4.5 play. On Friday, May 12 four courts are reserved from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and on again on Saturday, May 13 five courts are reserved from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm. The reserved courts will have score cards on them.
